Chandler Museum & Visitors Center - Located at 721 Hwy 31 East in McCain Park, the beautifully restored former home of Senator Ralph Yarborough serves as a museum with historical Chandler memorabilia and visitors center.

Lake Palestine - Located just south of Chandler, this 18 mile long lake offers outstanding recreation and outdoor activities for everyone including fishing, boating, water skiing, camping, RVing, and canoeing.

Lake Palestine Gateway RV Park - Located near River Park at 1300 Hwy 31 E, the RV Park offers fishing opportunities, kayak rentals, bird watching, paddle trails and much more.

McCain Park
McCain Park is located at the western entrance to Chandler on Highway 31. It was built in 2005 with proceeds from an award won by Keep Chandler Beautiful. McCain Park is beautifully landscaped and is home to the Chandler Museum. McCain Park Photo Gallery

Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center
The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center combines visitation and outdoor education with a production fish hatchery. Its mission is to provide an education, entertaining visitor experience that promotes freshwater sport fishing and the enhancement, conservation and stewardship of aquatic resources in Texas.

Chandler Pow Wow
This annual fall festival is held on the second Saturday of October at Winchester Park. This event is sponsored by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and includes a parade, arts & crafts vendors, delicious food, a pet costume contest, a CASI Chili Cookoff and much, much more. Pow Wow Photo Gallery

Tyler, Texas - The Rose Capital of the World

Tyler State Park is only 30 minutes away just north of Tyler. The park offers camping, group facilities, picnicking, fishing, boating and hiking trails. The Texas State Parks Store has everything you need such as souvenirs, bait, snacks, ice, free Wi-Fi and crafted products.

Caldwell Zoo is located in nearby Tyler and offers great fun for the whole family. Exhibits at the zoo include the African Savanna, North America, South America, an African Aquarium, the North American Herpetarium and a Wild Bird Walkabout.

The Waterpark at the Villages is only 15 minutes away and features a lazy river with a whirlpool for tubers, four exciting 3-story water slides and a Forest Ranger children’s playscape with a giant, 10,000 gallon bucket dump, three kid-size body slides and life-size figures of bears and moose.

Blue Moon Gardens is only 15 minutes away and offers the best selection of nursery plants in the East Texas area. Enjoy the beauty of nature and the love of gardening in this beautiful country setting.
