The City of Chandler offers a free curbside limb pickup to residents that live within the city limits on the first Monday of each month. If delayed due to weather or a holiday, the limbs will be picked up later that week. Limbs may not be stacked for pickup for more that 10 days prior to pickup. Tree limbs between 2 and 10 ft in length. Limbs must not be larger than 6" in diameter. Limbs should be stacked as neatly as possible at the curb by 7:00 a.m. or pickup day. Limbs will not be collected if not at the street. Limbs left by commercial tree care companies will not be picked up. Leaves and grass clippings will continue to be picked up by the regular trash service following their restrictions of leaf bags not weighing more than 45 lbs or more and a limit of 10 bags per trash pickup. Call (903)849-6853 the previous week to be added to the list.

The Kickapoo Literary Society and Book Club presentation on Monday, April 2nd at 6:00 PM at the Chandler Community Center. Robert Sterken, author of Teaching Barefoot in Burma, will be guest speaker. Dr. Robert Sterken is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Texas at Tyler. His most recent book, Teaching Barefoot in Burma shares stories & insights from his year as a Senior Fulbright Scholar at Yangon University where he taught and did research on religion and politics. The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board recently selected Sterken for a Senior Fulbright Specialist award to China. Dr. Sterken regularly teaches courses on Religion & Politics, International Law & Human Rights, Foreign Policy, and Asian Politics.
